When the hopeful refugee couple, Rial (Wunmi Mosaku) and Bol (Sope Dirisu), are finally assigned a place to live in the UK, briefly, it feels like a second chance. Unfortunately, once arrived at the destination, the pair is shocked to see that their new residence is a crumbling ruin located in a racist neighbourhood.
Rial occupies herself with cleaning and preparing meals, while Bol begins renovations of the neglected accommodation. Together, they try to make it look more habitable. The wife wants to honour their traditions and reminisce their daughter that has died in a tragic accident, while the husband focuses on moving forward and creating a new routine. Their differences create rising tensions in the house and move them apart.
As time passes and the external is being worked on, the harrowing memories from the past are haunting Bol with an increasing intensity, personified within the walls of their new house. Bol must face the trauma and accept his history before it is too late and he loses himself in madness completely.
